Meet Healthcode’s Business Development Manager (ePractice)
Tell us about your job at Healthcode?
I work within the Business Development team which looks after ePractice, our online practice management software (PMS) for private healthcare. We’re responsible for building productive partnerships with customers so we can help them use our tech to save time and effort, as well as ensuring they get top-notch customer service and support.
Since joining three years ago, I’ve focused on practitioners and smaller clinics but I’ve just taken on a new post with responsibility for UK hospitals and larger clinics. I’m looking forward to getting in touch with these customers, going on site visits and having conversations about the issues they’re facing. My role is to help meet their business needs, not just for invoicing and financial transactions but also from a clinical perspective as we extend the capabilities of ePractice. Ultimately, I’d like to overturn their preconceptions of what a practice management software can do.
How are you hoping to make a positive impact for clinics and hospitals in this role?
The number of people choosing private healthcare is rising which is a great opportunity for our sector but also puts pressure on providers to ensure their services can keep pace with demand. That’s where advanced tech can make a big difference.
My mission is to add value by helping customers switch to new, faster and better ways of getting things done, without compromising on data security. That includes demonstrating features to automate admin like pre-authorisation and collecting shortfalls; answering questions about The PPR; or advising them on the steps to achieve a smoother appointments process. Once customers have experienced all the benefits of our online products and services, I’m confident they’ll never look back.
A new generation of ePractice is coming – what are you most excited to tell customers about?
It’s always been the go-to platform for invoicing and managing payments but we’ve channelled 20+ years’ industry know-how and the latest tech into the next version of ePractice. As a practice management solution, it’s a leap forward in design, user experience and also functionality.
Customers have already had the chance to try out the latest diary. However, that’s just the start. I can’t wait to introduce them to the new features on our development roadmap to support the patient journey, including electronic prescribing and video consulting. We’re on track to launch these during 2025 and we’re currently working with customer partners to ensure these tools meet their needs.
How important is it for customers to have a comprehensive practice management solution?
We’ve all got used to practice management software that handle routine back-office admin like diary management, a patient database, invoicing and financial reporting but this approach is too limited to meet the needs of healthcare businesses today. As patient care becomes more complex, data driven and collaborative, it calls for a new generation of PMS which helps customers rise to the challenge.
ePractice is fast becoming a powerful joined-up solution for hospitals, clinics and practices of all sizes with Healthcode Intelligence features to optimise workflow throughout the entire patient journey. A comprehensive solution also means customers have a single, accurate source of truth which is important for continuity of care and for making informed business decisions.
What do you like best about working for Healthcode?
Working here over the past 3 years has been a fantastic experience. I’ve seen really exciting growth in the private healthcare sector and had the pleasure of working with some of the best people in the business. It’s a buzz to be part of a company at such a pivotal point in its development and that of so many of our customers.
How do you hope your customers and colleagues would describe you?
I really enjoy helping my customers and finding a solution that works for them. Whether it’s some friendly advice or setting up a solution, I’d like to think they find me insightful.
And finally, what do you enjoy doing outside work?
I’m really into reading and love getting stuck into a good novel. My favourite stories are mysteries and thrillers – anything with an unexpected twist in the tale. I also enjoy keeping fit but nothing too strenuous – I prefer an early morning run along the river bank as I find it therapeutic.
