Authorisation
Healthcode Authorisation
If you access our services through the Veda hub and have a subscription to one of our Financial Management Solutions we offer you a quick and easy automated solution to check the membership details of your patients and then request and view pre-authorisations, specific to you or the organisation. This is an essential part of invoicing but can be a time-consuming and laborious manual task.
Click the Records & Reporting tab, then Find Member & Pre-Auth.
This’ll open Healthcode Authorisation in a new tab which you can leave open in the background. The first time you access the feature you’ll get a welcome message explaining what it offers – you can choose not to see it again.
The right-hand side of the screen holds details of all the searches that have been made today.
On the left-hand side you’ve got two options – you can also navigate using your keyboard:
- A = Find a member
- B = View
Find a member
This section is all about searching for membership or pre-authorisation details for a specific patient. As well as seeing all the info about existing pre-authorisations relevant to your organisation, you’ll also be able to request new ones. See what’s available here.
View
This’ll show you an unfiltered list of all your pre-authorisations. Read all about it here.
Filter
Once you start building up your searches you can easily find a specific pre-authorisation by using the powerful filter and search options in the bar at the top of the page:
- Filter by date – choose from the requested, issued or last updated date
- Filter by status – choose to see all your pre-authorisations or filter to only see those that are read or unread
- Filter by insurer – choose to only see the pre-authorisations from a specific insurer
- Filter by activity – choose to see all your pre-authorisations or filter to only see those that are active, cancelled or closed
- Search by authorisation code
Settings
Click on the cogwheel icon at the top of the screen to access the settings where you can change your preferences for the following:
- How pre-authorisations are marked as read, either automatically when they’re selected or not – this will change the settings for all users from your organisation
- The default of how pre-authorisations display when you first load the page, by the status and also by sorting on a specific date type (requested, issued or updated) – this will only change the setting for you
