A first look at ePractice Insights for private medical practice

ePractice is constantly evolving – with new capabilities designed to help private medical practices run more smoothly and stay in control. The next step will help you draw insights from your practice data.

Insights is a set of smart features that’ll give you a clearer, real-time snapshot and a long‑term view of how your practice is performing. Some elements are in development while others are being tested -so this is an early look at what’s coming.

We caught up with Dean Putland, Senior Product Manager to talk all things Insights.

What’s Insights?

Most practices already have plenty of data, that’s not the issue. It’s more that their data sits in different places, different views, sometimes different systems altogether. You can get the answers, but it might take time, a lot of head scratching and a few coffees to piece everything together.

What we’re building removes that step. So instead of looking for information and piecing it together yourself, it’s already there – easier to see, easier to understand and easier to act on.

Why build this now?

Most practices already have plenty of data, that’s not the issue. It’s more that their data sits in different places, different views, sometimes different systems altogether. You can get the answers, but it might take time, a lot of head scratching and a few coffees to piece everything together.

What we’re building removes that step. So instead of looking for information and piecing it together yourself, it’s already there – easier to see, easier to understand and easier to act on.

What will ePractice Insights show private practices?

At a high level, it’s about visibility.

You’ll be able to see what’s happening across your practice in real time – from appointment activity through to performance and financial trends. That naturally connects to things like your scheduling, where patterns start to emerge, and your accounts data where you can better understand financial performance over time.

It’s worth looking at the Insights page on our website to explore it in a bit more detail.

How is it different to reporting that already exists?

It’s less about having more reports and more about making them usable. A lot of reporting today is static. You generate it, export it, then try to interpret it.

What we’re focusing on is live dashboards, clearer visualisation, trends over time and surfacing the things that matter. So instead of digging through data, you can see what’s happening as it unfolds.

What kind of difference will this make to practice’s day to day?

Clarity, more than anything.

When you can see what’s happening across your practice, decisions become easier. And it’s not just about what’s happening now. It’s about spotting trends over time and understanding what’s changing, so you can plan with more confidence.  You’re not second-guessing things or pulling information together manually – you’ve got a clearer picture of where your practice is today and where it’s heading next.

Just to be clear – this isn’t all live yet?

That’s right – and that’s an important point.

Some elements are already in development and customer testing, but others are still being shaped. This update is very much a preview of where we’re heading and we’ll let our customers know when all the elements are ready to use.

Can private practices help shape what comes next?

    Yes, absolutely.

ePractice is evolving and we’re building it by working closely with practices. If you’d like to be part of that journey and shape how our solutions make a genuine difference, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch.
