Linking your NHS CIS2 credentials
- Log into Healthcode Account as normal using your email address/user ID and password and complete the two-factor authentication (2FA) using your chosen method – more info on how to add 2FA can be found here
- Click the NHS Care Identity button on the Products and Services page

- You’ll be taken to the NHS CIS2 authentication page – select your login method from the options shown

- You’ll then be prompted to authenticate using your chosen method, e.g. your Smartcard

- Select your role – Clinical Practitioner Access Role or General Medical Practitioner

- You’ll now be returned to the Products and Services page in Healthcode Account and you’ll receive a confirmation message in the top right-hand corner that your two accounts have been successfully linked

Logging in using your NHS CIS2 credentials
Now you’ve linked your two accounts, you’ll be able to log in using your NHS credentials. This means that you won’t need to use your Healthcode Account email address/user ID and password and you won’t have to use 2FA.
- From the Healthcode Account login screen, click the NHS Login with my Care Identity button, which’ll take you directly to the CIS2 authentication page

- Select the login method – make sure this is the same method you used when you linked the accounts
- Authenticate and then select your role
- You’ll now be logged into your Healthcode Account using your NHS Care Identity credentials
Unlinking your NHS CIS2 credentials from your Healthcode Account
If you need to, it’s simple to unlink the two accounts.
- Login using your NHS credentials or your Healthcode Account email address/user ID and password
- From the Products and Services page select My Account by clicking the person icon in the top right-hand side of the screen

- Click Connections from the panel on the left of the screen

- Click Unlink to remove the connection

- Click Confirm to complete the process
